Use measured kWh from a smart plug or energy label where available. Rated wattage is useful for simple resistive loads but cycling appliances can draw less than their maximum rating over time.
How to get a more useful result
Use your own tariff or quote figures, then run the calculator again with a more conservative assumption for the input you are least sure about. A decision that still looks sensible under both cases is more robust than one that only works under optimistic inputs.
