Solar system size reference
What could a 12 kWp solar system generate?
Solar output is site-specific. This page deliberately uses a broad illustrative yield range of 800–1,000 kWh per installed kWp per year, then directs you to the postcode-based solar tools for a location-specific estimate.
Illustrative annual generation range9,600–12,000 kWh/year
Central worked point: 10,800 kWh/year at 900 kWh/kWp
Array size12 kWp
Low illustration9,600 kWh/yr
Central illustration10,800 kWh/yr
High illustration12,000 kWh/yr
Why the range is deliberately broad
Annual yield depends on latitude, roof orientation, pitch, shading, inverter behaviour, system losses and local weather. A single national kWh/kWp figure should not be treated as a prediction for a specific roof.
What 12 kWp means
kWp is the combined rated DC peak output of the solar modules under standard test conditions. It is not the amount of energy produced every hour, nor is it a guarantee of annual generation.
Use the postcode-based Solar Quote Checker for site-specific modelling. This reference page is intentionally a broad orientation tool, not a generation guarantee or installation design.
